What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a notice of termination, but the notice was found to be defective. The Landlord opted for an order for arrears only.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $7,500 in rent arrears and $186 for the application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 11, 2022, the Tenant will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
