What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The application was resolved by order CET-93093-20 issued on June 8, 2020. The Landlords requested a review of the order.

The ruling

The Landlords shall pay the Tenant a rent abatement of $951.25 and $50.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $1,001.25. If the Landlords do not pay the full amount by March 5, 2021, they will owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
