What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord also applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to substantial interference, but did not pursue this application.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 29, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $18,637.21 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $52.60 per day starting October 19, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay the $201 application fee. If the full amount is paid by October 29, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the Tenant can remain in the unit.
