What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous mediated settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 17, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $8,281.04 (less any amount paid after the application was filed), representing rent arrears up to April 30, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $62.14 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting August 7, 2020 until they move out.
