What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Tenant, another occupant of the rental unit or a person the Tenant permitted in the residential complex has seriously impaired the safety of any person. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 17, 2020. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 17, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $25.10 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from August 13, 2020 to the date the Tenant moves out, and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 17, 2020, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding. If the unit is not vacated by August 17, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement.
