What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from July 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective October 6, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 25, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $7,424.07 to the Landlord or Board in trust by that date. The Tenant must pay $4,289.56 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 14, 2022, plus $64.54 per day starting February 15, 2022, and $186.00 for application filing costs. If not paid, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 26, 2022.
