What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 21, 2022. The Tenant must move out by that date and pay the Landlord $695.58 for use of the unit from December 1, 2021 to January 10, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest owed. The Tenant must also pay $57.80 per day for use of the unit from January 11, 2022 until move-out, and $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 21, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
