What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Donna Larocque, the Tenant, and to evict the Unauthorized Occupant occupying the rental unit, and for compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Tenant, Donna Larocque, had passed away in January 2020, and the Unauthorized Occupant, Brandi Larocque, did not vacate the rental unit within 30 days as required.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of January 31, 2020. The Unauthorized Occupant, Brandi Larocque, shall pay the Landlord $4,763.22 in compensation for the use of the unit from January 6, 2020 to July 15, 2020, less the last month's rent deposit, and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. The full amount is due by April 17, 2021, and if not paid, the Unauthorized Occupant will owe simple interest at 2.00% on the outstanding balance starting April 20, 2021.
