What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on May 1, 2022, and the Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed.

The ruling

The tenancy terminated on May 1, 2022. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,386, which includes rent arrears up to May 1, 2022 and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 22, 2022, the Tenant will start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
