What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 13, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the unit by January 24, 2022 and pay the Landlord $2,036.24, which includes compensation for use of the unit after the termination date, less the rent deposit and interest. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 24, 2022, they will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
