What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and the Tenant or someone the Tenant permitted seriously impairing the safety of another person and wilfully causing undue damage to the premises.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective January 18, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $643.74 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $190 in application fees, for a total of $833.74. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 5, 2020, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
