What happened
Landlord applied for termination of tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference with reasonable enjoyment and lawful rights of the Landlord and other tenants. Tenant had not paid rent from September 24, 2021 to February 28, 2022, and engaged in offensive behavior towards the Landlord and other tenants.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 1, 2022. The Tenant must pay $2,169.66 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 18, 2022, plus $19.36 per day from February 19, 2022 until move-out, and $201.00 for application filing costs. If not paid by March 1, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually from March 2, 2022. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting March 2, 2022 if the unit is not vacated.
