What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant committing illegal acts at the residential complex, including brandishing a knife, attempting to enter the superintendent's unit, vandalizing the superintendent's car, and threatening harm to the superintendent. The Tenant was incarcerated at the time of the hearing due to these allegations.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 30, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $57.38 per day for use of the unit starting January 18, 2023 until the move-out date, as well as $186.00 for the application filing fee.
