What happened

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of September 2, 2021, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,375.21, which represents the rent arrears and compensation up to September 2, 2021, less the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by October 18, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
