What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit, use of the unit inconsistent with residential premises, substantial interference with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment or lawful rights, and overcrowding.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 1, 2020. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlord $1,000 for repair costs and $175 for the application fee. If the Tenants do not pay by September 1, 2020, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
