What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed due to giving short notice to end their tenancy. Tenants argued the Landlord failed to provide an adequate fridge, which induced them to move on short notice, and that the Landlord failed to mitigate her losses.

The ruling

The Tenants owe the Landlord $1,335 in rent for the notice period they failed to provide, plus $201 in application filing fees. If the full amount is not paid by January 24, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
