What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for their parent, William Black. The Landlords served an N12 notice with a termination date of October 31, 2021 and paid the Tenants one month's rent compensation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlords $5,654.50 in compensation for use of the unit from November 1, 2021 to January 25, 2022, as well as $65.75 per day from January 26, 2022 until they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by February 28, 2022, they will owe interest starting March 1, 2022.
