What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants did not meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the LTB.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $18,104.51 less any payments made after December 28, 2022, which represents the rent owing up to March 20, 2023 and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $70.78 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting March 21, 2023 until they move out.
