What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date. If the unit is not vacated by March 31, 2023, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $9,700.27, which represents compensation for use of the unit from May 1, 2022 to October 4, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $75.22 per day for use of the unit from October 5, 2022 until the date the Tenant moves out.
