What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 10, 2022. The Tenant must move out by this date. If the unit is not vacated by December 10, 2022, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,445.18, which includes compensation for use of the unit and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 10, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
