What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to illegal acts involving illegal drugs. The Landlord presented video footage and witness testimony showing numerous individuals entering the rental unit for short periods of time and then engaging in illicit drug use in the stairwell.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 29, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlord $207.34, which includes compensation for use of the unit and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 29, 2021, interest will start accruing at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by June 29, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
