What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because one of the Landlords requires possession of the rental unit for personal use due to separation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date, but this request was not pursued at the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 15, 2022. The Landlord Joseph Borg was found to genuinely require the rental unit for personal use due to separation. The Tenants must vacate the unit by February 15, 2022. The Landlords have already paid the required one month's rent compensation to the Tenants.
