What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the mediated settlement issued on November 7, 2019.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,356.82, less any amount paid after the application was filed, representing rent arrears up to January 31, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $42.48 per day for compensation for use of the unit from February 1, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the full amount is not paid by August 18, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
