What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date. The Tenant did not attend the hearing until after it had concluded.
The ruling
The Tenant is ordered to pay rent in full no later than the first day of each month from February 2022 to January 2023. If the Tenant fails to make any payment, the Landlord may apply for termination and eviction within 30 days of the missed payment. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. Interest will be charged on any outstanding balance after January 30, 2022.
