What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on September 3, 2022, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $9,525.34, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 26, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
