What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant retained access to the rental unit until March 31, 2021 but did not fully pay the rent owed for the period from August 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of December 31, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,750.00 in rent arrears and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 6, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
