What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from April 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021, and the Landlord served a Notice of Termination. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 1, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of June 1, 2021, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,000.00 in rent arrears and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 27, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
