Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants vacated the rental unit on June 30, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective July 1, 2020. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,750.20, which includes rent arrears, the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest owed to the Tenants. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 19, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
