What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's accumulation of belongings that substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit by another tenant, and also posed a serious safety risk. The Landlords also claimed compensation for the Tenant's continued occupancy after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 3, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlords $25,084.96, which includes compensation for the Tenant's continued occupancy and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 3, 2021, interest will accrue on the outstanding balance.
