What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant or an occupant permitted by the Tenant wilfully causing undue damage to the rental unit or residential complex, substantially interfering with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord or another tenant, and seriously impairing the safety of any person.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 24, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 24, 2021. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $10,593.22 for compensation for use of the unit from August 27, 2020 to August 19, 2021, and an additional $29.59 per day for compensation for use of the unit from August 20, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 24, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
