What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's obligations related to suite meters under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The Tenants' obligation to pay for the electricity costs for their rental unit is terminated as of June 1, 2014. The Landlord shall assume the obligation to pay electricity and electricity related costs for the rental unit. The Tenants are authorized to recover the cost of payments they made for electricity. The Landlord shall pay to the Tenants a rent abatement of $96.00 for the three-day period that the Tenants were without electricity.
