What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on July 29, 2022 and the Landlord's application was amended to an L9 application solely for the arrears of rent and the filing fee.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $25,972.22, which includes rent arrears owing up to July 29, 2022 and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 16, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
