What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord's child requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 8, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before November 8, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $19.53 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from October 29, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by November 8, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
