What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent for the period from August 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 15, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $3,744.58 on or before that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay $963.59 to the Landlord, representing rent arrears and compensation up to March 4, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest. Additional compensation of $44.04 per day is due from March 5, 2022, until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost.
