What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed charges related to NSF cheques. The Tenant had not paid rent since moving in, citing a bed bug infestation that was remediated in June 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $18,009.71 by October 31, 2022. If not voided, the Tenant must move out by October 31, 2022, and pay $12,683.72 plus $59.01 per day from September 2, 2022, until move-out. The Tenant may file a motion to void the order if full payment is made before the Sheriff enforces eviction.
