What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant seriously impairing the safety of any person by tampering with the safety window lock and improperly installing an air-conditioning unit in the rental unit.

The ruling

The tenancy continues if the Tenant complies with the conditions to not reinstall the air-conditioning unit and to reinstall the safety window lock. If the Tenant fails to comply, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $186 for the application filing costs by March 31, 2023, or start owing interest.
