What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as specified in a previous order. The Tenant did not meet the conditions of the previous order to pay rent arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 15, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $21,076.67, which includes rent arrears up to May 4, 2021 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $70.22 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting May 5, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 15, 2021, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
