What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because they failed to meet a condition specified in the previous consent order issued by the Board on June 2, 2021. The condition was to maintain the rental unit, including the balcony, in an uncluttered state of ordinary cleanliness for the remainder of the tenancy. The Landlord's electrician was unable to complete work in the unit due to the overwhelming unpleasant odor and pest issue resulting from the lack of cleanliness.

The ruling

The previous consent order is cancelled. The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated, and the Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before November 12, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction.
