What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order to pay $700 towards arrears by October 20, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 6, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $9,665.44, which includes rent arrears up to January 26, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $42.29 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 27, 2023 until they vacate.
