What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The rental property was sold effective September 30, 2021, so the order was limited to rent arrears and costs only, not eviction.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,905.00 in rent arrears up to September 30, 2021, and $186.00 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 3, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting January 4, 2022.
