What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears.

The ruling

The Tenant owes the Landlord $6,200 in rent arrears from September 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020, plus $190 in application filing fees, for a total of $6,390. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 18, 2020, the Tenant will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
