What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord illegally retained the Tenant's last month's rent deposit and failed to pay interest on the deposit. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on April 1, 2020 after receiving a N5 Notice of Termination from the Landlord with a termination date of March 30, 2020.

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $552.29, which represents the balance of the last month's rent deposit ($531.92) and the interest owed on the deposit ($20.37). The Landlord is also ordered to pay the Tenant the $50 application fee.
