What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the Board.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 12, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,296.95, which includes rent arrears up to February 1, 2021 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $31.23 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting February 2, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 12, 2021, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
