What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order to pay $500 towards arrears by October 20, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 10, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $7,341.62, which includes rent arrears, the previous application fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $44.44 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 31, 2023 until they vacate.
