What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay compensation for the damages caused by the Tenant or a person the Tenant permitted in the residential complex. The Tenant has vacated the unit, but while he was in possession, he or his guests wilfully or negligently caused extensive damage to the premises.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $6,516.21, which represents the reasonable repair and replacement cost regarding damages to the premises and the Landlord's filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by July 19, 2021, he will owe simple interest calculated from July 20, 2021 at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
