What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from January 1, 2021 to February 28, 2021. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on January 11, 2021, but did not provide a proper notice of termination to the Landlord.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,700.00, which represents the amount of rent owing up to February 28, 2021 less the last month's rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by November 12, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
