What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlord harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with them, entered the rental unit illegally, altered the locking system on a door giving entry to the rental unit or residential complex without giving them replacement keys and substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenants or by a member of their household.

The ruling

The Landlord substantially interfered with the Tenant's reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit and harassed the Tenant. The Landlord illegally entered the rental unit, removed the Tenant's belongings, and changed the locks without providing the Tenant with replacement keys. The tenancy is terminated effective May 12, 2021, and the Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $9,948.00 for lost income, additional out of pocket expenses, moving expenses, and locker rental fees.
