What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Landlords served a valid Notice of Termination effective November 17, 2019 due to rent arrears. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit at the time of the application.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 11, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $21,974.78, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and application fees, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $85.48 per day in compensation starting September 1, 2020 until they vacate the unit. If the Tenants pay $38,190.00 on or before September 11, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
