What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on June 10, 2021, which required the Tenant to pay $8,468.00 by July 9, 2021.

The ruling

The previous order HOL-09301-21 is cancelled. The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by August 27, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $16,936.00 in rent arrears and costs, plus $110.14 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 1, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 27, 2021, interest will start accruing at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
