What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit and residential complex. The Tenants repeatedly blocked the bathroom sink, left taps on, and allowed water to overflow, causing water damage.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 27, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by October 1, 2021. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $8,427 for repair costs and filing fees. If the Tenants do not pay by October 1, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
